What We
Stand For

  • Macronutrient Balance

When we say “macronutrient balance,” we’re really talking about having a mix of foods on the plate: think a source of protein, carbohydrates, fiber, and healthy fat in every meal. For growing kids, balance is what matters most. For more information about the macronutrient standards we've set for each plate, please scroll down to the nutrition section below.

  • All Organic Meat, Dairy, & Eggs

We are the ONLY kids meal delivery service that uses ALL Certified Organic meats, dairy, and eggs.

One of the driving forces behind creating Tiny Plates was our disappointment in the marketing tactics of the major, national kids meal delivery companies. Across the board, they pledge to use organic ingredients…”when possible.” We encourage you to review their ingredients statements and think you’ll be hard pressed to find any organic dairy, eggs, or meat in their meals.

  • Fruits & Veggies On Every Plate

Our plates include a variety of fruits and veggies that kids can see, teaching them that they’re an important part of every meal. Plus, we often include extra hidden veggies (so it’s no sweat if they snub that broccoli this time!).

There’s at the very least a full serving of fruits and veggies in every meal we offer. And our goal is to offer veggies that kids not only eat, but that – with consistent exposure and varied flavor profiles – they’ll soon begin to love.

  • Locally Made

All of our meals are prepared fresh in our kitchens just down the road from you, and delivered straight to yours. We don’t use third party manufacturing plants across the country to cook for your family and then ship across the country, like all of the national kids meal delivery brands. We value being a part of your community and promise to always be made locally.

  • Transparency

As a parent, you should know what you’re feeding your kids, especially if your little one has food allergies or dietary intolerances. We make transparency a core part of our kids meals, with nutrition facts and ingredient lists available before you order any meal. You’re also welcome to contact us prior to or after any order in order to receive additional clarification about the ingredients.

Macronutrient Breakdown

  • Protein is classically described as the “building block” of the body. This macronutrient plays an essential role in building, maintaining, and repairing body tissues as well as the immune system – processes that are especially important as toddlers grow into kids and kids grow into active teenagers and, ultimately, adults. Based on nutritional guidelines we’ve set for our meals, all our plates offer at least 9 grams of protein. You’ll even find protein in the snack cakes where we’ve used whole wheat flour, organic greek yogurt, and organic hemp hearts to give a nutritional boost.

  • Dietary fiber is one of the most important features of a healthy, well-balanced diet at any age. Fiber plays a big role in digestive health and regulation, as well as blood sugar control and overall satiety. Our fiber-rich veggies and carbohydrates have been thoughtfully chosen to help you and your kids feel fuller longer — and prevent those pesky sugar crashes. All of our plates include at least 4 grams of dietary fiber. We focus on incorporating fiber-rich blends of brown rice, beans, whole wheat flour, and protein/fiber-boosted dried pastas to provide greater feelings of fullness and more sustained energy levels throughout the day.

  • We don’t use seed oils, ever. The only added fats we use in the preparation of our Tiny Plates are organic avocado oil, olive oil, coconut oil, and grass fed organic butter.

  • We keep added sugars as low as possible for every meal. There is a small amount of honey, maple syrup, or sugar in the entree portion of a very small handful of meals (usually by way of a sauce on the side that doesn't have to be served if you so choose). Our snack cakes all include very minimal amounts of honey or maple, and contain less than 2 grams of total sugar per meal. Our Lunchbox Ready options that contain the most sugar are the ones that include an organic yogurt tube. We promise to never use added sugar where it doesn’t make sense. You can review the ingredients statement for each plate on our menu before you choose any meal for your order.
